Responsibilities

Design and model novel superconducting quantum devices, including qubits, readout and control schemes, and advanced quantum processors
Candidates with a track record of original scientific contributions and/or software development experience will be preferred
Organization and communication skills are essential

Qualification

PhD in relevant fieldQuantum mechanicsScientific programming proficiencyMicrowave modeling softwareDevice layout scriptingTeam collaborationCommunication skillsProblem-solving

Required

PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics
Knowledge of quantum mechanics, with expertise in at least one of the following topics: quantum technologies (sensing, communications, computing, etc.) superconducting qubits, hybrid quantum acoustic devices, cavity/circuit QED, quantum optics, open quantum systems, superconductivity (phenomenology or microscopic theory)
Proficient in a scientific programming environment

Preferred

Experience with microwave and/or multiphysics modeling software (one or more of COMSOL, Sonnet, Microwave Office, ANSYS, Keysight ADS, Cadence AWR, Palace, etc.)
Experience with device layout scripting and automation
Effective working in a team environment with other engineers, scientists and technicians who have a wide range of technical skill levels
