Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering
California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering. The role focuses on contributing to a modern Electrical Engineering degree program while engaging undergraduates in research and teaching.

Demonstrating a commitment to teaching excellence and developing a research program that leads to original, peer-reviewed publications
Communicating effectively and working cooperatively with departmental colleagues and a diverse student body
Qualification
Required
Possess a B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering and have received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment
Applicants with ABD status will be considered, but the applicant must possess a doctoral degree on the starting date
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, a record of published research commensurate with years of experience, and the ability to develop and sustain a research program that will lead to original, peer-reviewed publications
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and with a student body representing a wide range of backgrounds, life experiences, and educational pathways, including individuals who are the first in their families to pursue STEM education
Preferred
Earned Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Demonstrated commitment to teaching with research-based and instructional practices such as project-based learning or community service learning, with an ability to engage and support students from a variety of educational and personal backgrounds
Interest in and/or experience with course development, laboratory development, program assessment, ABET accreditation
Experience/potential building industry partnerships; active participation in professional societies such as the IEEE, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, etc
Preference will be given to applicants whose expertise will expand the education and research opportunities the program currently offers for students and be complementary to the areas of specialization of existing faculty in the department and college
