Compliance Manager, Sanctions Advisory, AWS Compliance & Security Assurance
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Compliance Program Manager to join their Denied Party Screening compliance team. The role involves providing sanctions guidance, developing compliance programs, and managing projects across Amazon businesses to mitigate compliance risk and enhance investigation frameworks.

Responsibilities
Identify and interpret requirements and new updates from sanctions regulatory authorities and their overall impact on the sanctions program and compliance strategy
Design and implement robust sanctions compliance programs, policies, and procedures
Develop new guidance to support the onboarding of new businesses into the screening program, as well as continual improvement/enhancement of existing compliance frameworks
Manage sanctions compliance reporting for blocked property, including filing reports with regulatory authorities
Review complex edge cases and sensitive investigations, and establish a risk tolerance that balances risk mitigation with customer obsession
Provide support on impactful escalations and appeals that may require liaising with senior leadership, external business partners, and Legal
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, product, compliance, and risk professionals to address complex compliance challenges
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience with research and investigation skills or equivalent
Experience with regulatory filings and reports or equivalent
4+ years in a sanctions compliance or related field
Experience conducting reviews of customers and business activities to determine sanctions compliance requirements
Strong working knowledge of global sanctions and export control regulations, including OFAC, UN, and the EU
Preferred
Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent
Experience building scalable programs and repeatable scalable processes, leveraging various tools and methods to create scale and efficiency
Experience in AML or Compliance
