Columbia College Chicago is inviting applications for the position of Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel. This role serves as the chief legal officer and principal advisor to the President and Board of Trustees, providing strategic leadership and oversight for all legal and compliance matters affecting the College.

Serve as the College’s chief legal officer, principal advisor to the President and Board of Trustees, and a key member of the President’s Cabinet

Provide strategic leadership, counsel, and oversight for all legal, compliance, risk-management, and policy matters affecting the College

Ensure that institutional actions, policies, and initiatives reflect the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and accountability

Support governance, safeguard the institution’s mission, and enable the creative and academic freedom that define Columbia College Chicago

Required

J.D. degree from an accredited law school

Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible for admission

Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, including significant experience in higher education law

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
