Joom is an international tech-centric group of e-commerce companies, and they are seeking a Senior/Lead Data Engineer to help scale their data pipelines for JoomPulse, an AI analytics tool for Mercado Livre sellers. The role involves leading the design of data warehouse architecture, collaborating with product managers, and ensuring data quality and stability as products scale.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and evolution of data warehouse architecture

Collaborate with product managers and designers to prepare datasets for new features, balancing usefulness, cost efficiency, and development speed

Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported data issues

Define and monitor data quality and SLOs for critical datasets

Mentor teammates and promote data engineering best practices

Required

Proficient in advanced SQL

Familiarity with data modeling (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, etc.)

Experience with analytical databases (BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake, etc.)

Experience with Apache Spark (PySpark, Spark SQL)

Experience completing large and complex projects

Preferred

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)

Familiarity with ETL process schedulers (Airflow, Prefect, etc.)

Practical experience with Python
