Substation Testing/Commissioning Manager

They are currently seeking a skilled Substation Technician Manager to join their Anchorage Substation Tech team, responsible for the commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of substation and generation apparatus.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge in the commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of substation and generation apparatus
Find work/respond to quote requests in conjunction with supporting the company projects
Multitask between office/administrative tasks and completing field testing without oversight
Demonstrate technical as well as administrative experience
Extensive travel both in the state of Alaska as well as Pacific Northwest, Hawaii and South Pacific will be required for this position

Required

Associate degree or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school
10+ Years demonstrated experience in high voltage power relaying, controls and/or substation apparatus
Knowledge in the commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of substation and generation apparatus
Familiarity in project management/direct client interaction on small projects and estimating
Ability to multitask between office/administrative tasks and completing field testing without oversight
Technical as well as administrative experience
Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
Attention to detail
Team player, self-starter and well-organized person willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Extensive travel both in the state of Alaska as well as Pacific Northwest, Hawaii and South Pacific

Preferred

Engineering degree
Specific substation technician apprenticeship or applicable military training
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
NETA or NICET Power Testing certificates
Familiarity with Omicron 356 or similar relay test set
Familiarity with Doble TDR900 test set
Familiarity with Doble M4100 test set
Familiarity with ETI PI-2500 test set
Familiarity with AC Hi-Pot test set
Familiarity with 10/200A DLRO test set
Familiarity with Transformer Ratiometer test set
Familiarity with Megohmmeter test set
