Furniture Repair Technician

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is one of the largest retailers in home furnishings, with a dynamic Supply Chain environment. The Furniture Repair Technician role involves inspecting and repairing furniture to ensure quality for home deliveries, as well as maintaining an organized workspace.

Transportation/Trucking/Railroad

Responsibilities

Ensure complete thorough inspection of upholstery and furniture repairs including burns-ins, wood raining and clear finish
Performs repairs to ensure quality assurance for the next day’s home deliveries
Color match on top surface
Proper applications of sealers and topcoats
Polishing topcoat to vendor specifications
Cross grain scratches burn in and rub out
Proper application of finishes using spray gun
Minor to more complex repair of damage / defects in order to meet standards (e.g., wood repair, touch up, burn in, fill sticks, etc.)
Paint and finish color-matching for wood products, using lacquers for flat to high gloss finishes
Inventory and organize all shop tools and repair materials / supplies
Perform work safely and contribute to a professional environment
Assemble/deluxe furniture and stage prior to delivery as needed

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent
At least 2 years' previous experience in furniture assembly
Ability to multitask and be extremely detailed in identifying errors and imperfections

Preferred

Previous experience with painting, wood assembly, wood repair, and/or similar craftsmanship
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to work under pressure and fast learner
Availability to work full time schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays
Willingness to be part of a team
Furniture repair skills assessment testing may be required as part of the interview process
