Responsibilities

Report directly to the Network Director and serves as the clinical subject matter expert in the complex field of health informatics, electronic health record and health care data analytics
Assist with long-term planning within the Defense Health Network
Work independently in accordance with methods and practices of the Defense Health Agency health informatics community, as well as local and Command to established policies and operating procedures
Work across multiple clinical venues providing consistent support and messaging with the goal of integrating new clinical, business and information technology solutions within the Defense Health Network
Provide direct support to the leadership in Health Informatics
Directly responsible for supervising health informatics personnel

Required

Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position
Degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
One year of specialized experience which includes developing policies or procedures for health information systems and/or clinical software; assessing healthcare organizational processes to identify improvements in healthcare delivery services; and providing guidance or advice to senior leadership in a healthcare related setting
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social)
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
A background investigation and credit check are required

Preferred

A licensed or board-certified clinician preferred, but not required

Benefits

Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates.
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.
