Mid LevelKirin is seeking a Freelance Data Engineer to focus on global migration and wealth flow research. The role involves scraping, cleaning, and maintaining datasets from various sources to compile an annual report on global wealth migration.

Responsibilities
Identify, scrape, ingest, and clean data from every credible source on migration and wealth flows
Maintain unified master dataset with version control, metadata, and reproducible pipelines
Track and compare data definitions across institutions, flag gaps
Produce visualizations and tables that withstand scrutiny from economists and policymakers
Compile annual comprehensive report on migration and wealth flows
Continuously discover new data sources and expand coverage
Deliver clean, well-structured datasets ready for publication
Qualification
Required
Strong scraping and data wrangling skills
Experience with public data APIs (UN DESA, OECD, World Bank, IMF, Eurostat)
Ability to reconcile conflicting sources and methodologies
Statistical fluency: time series, demographic modeling, flow reconciliation
Rigorous: verify every number, source every claim
Preferred
Experience with AI tools for data extraction and automation
