The Institute of Technical Education is seeking a dynamic and outcome-driven Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support their product teams at the National Environment Agency. This role involves driving, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and operating key components of products, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities
CI/CD Pipeline Management: Collaborate on the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment velocity and system reliability
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Contribute to IaC initiatives using tools such as Terraform or Ansible to provision and manage infrastructure efficiently and consistently
Observability & Monitoring: Work with the DevOps/Infrastructure team to ensure application and system observability through metrics, logs, and distributed tracing using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
Platform Reliability: Participate in platform reliability efforts, including setting up monitoring and alerting systems, conducting automated testing, and tuning performance
DevSecOps Integration: Help drive the adoption of DevSecOps practices, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and ensuring infrastructure and application compliance
Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning, build processes, and application deployments
Cloud & Environment Management: Work with cloud and hosting providers to set up, configure, and manage application environments and deployment pipelines
Resource Management: Provision and manage infrastructure resources such as servers, virtual machines, containers, and related services to support development and operations teams
Continuous Integration/Delivery: Promote and implement continuous integration and delivery best practices to improve development workflows and deployment efficiency
Qualification
Required
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field
Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, Agile development practices, and cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
Practical experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines using platforms such as GitLab CI/CD
Proficiency in tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for building, managing, and orchestrating containerized applications
Proficient in administering both Linux and Windows systems, including patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Experience configuring and managing RabbitMQ or similar messaging systems
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and virtualization technologies like VMware
Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, subnets) as they relate to cloud and on-prem environments
Exposure to backend technologies such as Java, and scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python) for automation
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networks, and deployment pipelines
Preferred
Experience designing infrastructure and automation solutions for complex and scalable applications
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Azure Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator etc)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with developers, testers, and operations teams
Background working in large software teams or enterprise IT environments
