Motor Claims Engineer

Responsibilities
To produce high quality reports
Assess, value and negotiate repair costs
Provide vehicle valuations
Negotiate total loss settlements
Have a detailed understanding of salvage categories
Claims management
Liaise with Field planning team, repairers and customers
Support other members of the team as and when the need dictates
Qualification
Required
Qualified to a minimum of I.A.E.A or ATA (VDA) standard
Proven experience leading an engineering function for an insurer or independent firm
Confident in valuing and negotiating repair costs
Providing accurate vehicle valuations
Managing total loss settlements
A deep understanding of salvage categories and the full claims management process
Proficiency in vehicle estimating systems such as Audatex and Glassmatix
Inspection scope extends from Cars to HGV'S, Agricultural implements, and caravans
Resolve customer complaints
Consistency of damage
Diminution in value
Ensure instruction to reporting timescales remains within SLA's
Contribute to a engaging and collaborative working environment
Adapt to the constantly changing requirements of the department and the company and perform additional tasks as may be required
Structured in your approach with effective time management and the ability to manage your workload, prioritising to ensure that deadlines are met
Good attention to detail, analytical thinker, solutions focused and great at problem solving
Thrives working in a fast paced and changing environment with the ability to work using own initiative
Verbal and written communication to an exceptional standard
Capable of handling sensitive and confidential material
Confident negotiator
Preferred
An AQP qualification is highly desirable
