Responsibilities
Channel Partnership Development: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with private equity firms and their portfolio companies, positioning Blue Orange as a go-to partner for data platform, BI, and AI solutions. Leverage your network and industry presence to build a pipeline of opportunities through PE operating groups and referral channels
Consultative Sales & Value Creation: Serve as a trusted consultant to private equity operating partners, advising on how advanced data analytics and AI can unlock portfolio value (e.g. improved EBITDA, operational efficiencies, faster time-to-market). Customize Blue Orange’s offerings to portfolio company needs, craft proposals, and communicate ROI in terms that resonate with C-level stakeholders
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with PE operating teams and portfolio executives over the long term. Act as the main point of contact to ensure high client satisfaction, ongoing engagement, and identification of new opportunities within PE portfolios. This includes regular check-ins, business reviews, and acting as an advocate for clients’ needs internally
Go-to-Market Execution: Collaborate closely with Blue Orange’s Account Executives, data engineers, and AI experts to align partnership efforts with our sales process. When a lead is generated via a PE relationship, work with the sales team to qualify, pitch, and close the opportunity. Ensure smooth handoff to delivery teams and stay involved to maintain client confidence throughout project execution
Industry Presence: Represent Blue Orange at relevant industry events, conferences, and meetups (especially those focused on private equity and technology). This includes attending and speaking at forums (e.g. Operating Partners events) to establish thought leadership and increase Blue Orange’s visibility. (For example, AI’s potential role in everything from due diligence to forecasting is a hot topic among PE operating professionals, and you will be expected to speak credibly to such trends.)
Revenue & Quota Management: Take ownership of a sales quota tied to deals originating from the private equity channel. Work systematically to meet or exceed quarterly and annual targets, tracking pipeline progression and forecast accuracy. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking to cultivate the channel and hands-on sales skills to drive deals to closure
Strategy & Practice Building: Because this is the first role of its kind at Blue Orange, you will help define the playbook for private equity partnerships. Provide feedback to marketing and leadership on what messaging resonates, what service offerings are in demand, and how to refine our approach. Over time, as success is demonstrated, you may help mentor future team members and scale the practice
