General Assignment Reporting Intern, Spring 2026

WhoWhatWhy is a non-profit news organization seeking aspiring journalists for a reporting internship. Interns will have the opportunity to investigate and report on national stories with a focus on election integrity and immigration, while being guided by experienced editors.

News

Responsibilities

Cover national politics during a three-to-six month term
Investigate and report on national stories under the guidance of experienced senior editors
Focus on election integrity ahead of the midterms and immigration
Report and write at least one feature story every other week

Qualification

Spanish proficiencyPassion for journalismRemote communication

Required

College student or recent graduate
Passion for serious journalism
Commitment of 10-15 hours per week for a minimum of three months
Ability to report and write at least one feature story every other week
Willingness to work remotely and on your own schedule
Ability to attend live Zoom calls for instruction and discussion

Preferred

Some reporting and writing experience
Spanish proficiency
