Responsibilities
Establish solid vendor relations to get the best possible deliveries at optimum cost and best quality
Communicate with vendors on item availability: In stock units by size and other color offerings, incoming stock/pre-orders by size and delivery dates, and custom cut dates and minimum order quantities (MOQ’s)
Negotiate discounts and best possible costs, including air costs if needed at an earlier date
Presents recommendations to Planning and Buying
Enter purchase orders into the system and|or upload orders
Recommend color|print expansion of core items|key buys to Vice President, Buying
Recommend counter sourcing with other vendors if facing problem deliveries
Coordinate with Product Development if needed on core programs|key items
Review selling reports to keep track of how reorders are selling
Monitor program buys and core items to help manage the flow; i.e. move up or move back
Recommend promotional activity if needed to drive additional sales volume
Aware of fashion market trends and new, current and emerging best practice within Merchandising|Buying
Qualification
Required
Six plus years of experience in Replenishment, Data Analysis or a related field
Experience working with vendors and negotiating
Passionate about fashion and trend analysis
Demonstrated ability in financial analysis
Experience analyzing data and providing actionable insights
Experienced in Excel - can perform complex functions, such as SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables
Strong knowledge of and the ability to apply retail math concepts, including markup, margin planning, open to buy, and inventory productivity measures
Must be able to adapt to constant change and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must be results oriented and have excellent organizational skills
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must possess a keen eye for design, trends, and color
BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field
Preferred
Experience with product development preferred
Experience in digital and|or multi-brand setting preferred
English, additional language(s) an advantage
