Mount Sinai Health System is one of the largest academic medical systems in the New York metro area, and they are seeking a Pharmacy Finance Intern. This role will support process improvements and strategic initiatives related to the finance and accounting of pharmacy medications.

Responsibilities

Support the MSHS Finance and Accounting Teams, alongside Inventory Planning & Procurement teams, that manages the revenues, costs, and replenishment of medications across the system
Support the deployment of inventory management practices that will achieve drug availability expectations in an optimal / cost-efficient manner
Data analytics and reporting to generate key insights in driving Pharmacy supply chain performance improvement
Mitigation and management of medication shortages leveraging technology and predictive ordering processes
Automation related to pharmacy stockroom inventory management
Pharmaceutical contracting and GPO optimization activities
New product introduction and lifecycle management of pharmaceuticals
Ensuring compliance with DSCSA provisions
Research and benchmarking of best practices in pharmacy finance, accounting, and supply chain optimization
Analysis of Data, Developing Core Metrics and Reports for performance measurement
Participate in the ideation / deployment / implementation of system SC initiatives
Assessing and improving Procure-to-Pay and Inventory Mgt process & workflows

Required

A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required as per MS Health System hiring policy. Otherwise, Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D as applicable
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Strong critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving skills with project management ability
Attention to detail
Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), database software
Preferred knowledge of inventory management software
The role will be based at one of the health system's acute care sites or at the Corporate Services Center, within the New York City metropolitan area
