Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Responsibilities

Collaborate internally and with suppliers for assigned commodities to achieve best cost, quality, and delivery available
Select, recommend, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
Analyze and evaluate external price trends and negotiate to reduce overall purchasing costs
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of their products, materials, components and/or operations meets or exceeds our expectations and develop supply recommendations
Negotiate, implement, and manage supply agreements including representing Parts & Service in manufacturing lead negotiations
Support global colleagues to define and drive the selection of suppliers ensuring adherence to corporate strategic direction (EMEA, LATAM, APAC, etc.)
Ensure suppliers can meet forecasted demand while maintaining adequate inventory levels and turns
Support new product launch initiatives to meet program timing, cost, quality, delivery, and strategic objectives including (a) okay to ship (OKTS), (b) critical for launch (CFL), (c) initial stocking (ISL)
Coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establishing cost for new products
Participate in design and/or technical reviews
Support the Marketing team to promote products and negotiate rebates
Visit suppliers and attend purchasing related events – internal & external
Monitor and evaluate short paid invoices to prevent credit holds and stop shipments
Travel required for supplier visits 10% of time and 2 days per month physically in the Racine aftermarket location
Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week

Required

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, logistics or a directly related field
Six years of experience as a Sourcing Specialist, Purchasing Specialist, or related occupation
Six years of experience with negotiating with suppliers and purchasing parts for an original equipment manufacturer
Six years of experience with analyzing reports to identify cost reduction opportunities
Six years of experience with conducting market tests and forecasting economic savings performance
Six years of experience with coordinating with global teams and supplier capacity management
Six years of experience with negotiating price reductions and increases
Six years of experience with negotiating, implementing, and managing long term supply agreements
Six years of experience with facilitating supplier and engineering VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) activities
Six years of experience with tracking, monitoring, and executing supply chain projects
Experience with SAP
Experience in the manufacturing industry
