Mechanical Engineer

Winchester Ammunition is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full product lifecycle, from initial design and development through manufacturing and evaluation, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

Responsibilities

Conduct research and analysis to design, develop, and test prototypes for mechanical systems and components
Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create detailed models, schematics, and technical drawings
Perform engineering calculations, simulation, and testing to validate and optimize designs for performance, safety, and reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing, and R&D, to ensure seamless integration and communication
Oversee and provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly process to ensure all designs meet specifications and quality standards
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and maintenance procedures
Estimate project timelines, budgets, and resource needs, and ensure projects stay on track
Conduct failure analysis and recommend design modifications to eliminate system malfunctions
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering. Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (documentation required)
Minimum of 1 year proven experience in mechanical engineering. Candidate's with 2 years full time, recent mechanical engineering experience do not require GPA documentation
Highly analytical mind with exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
High mechanical aptitude and ability to visualize tooling and equipment configurations
Strong communication, teamwork, and project management skills
Ability to establish effective relationships, influence change, and make quick, accurate decisions
Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to read, write, and perform calculations
Ability to meet the role's physical demands, including, but not limited to, continuous standing/walking and occasionally picking up material weighing up to 50 pounds
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required

Preferred

Proficiency in SolidWorks software preferred
