Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including product management, manufacturing, sales, and marketing, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes
Develop and implement engineering strategies: Develop and implement engineering strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business objectives
Drive continuous improvement initiatives: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within engineering processes, implementing changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Lead a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement
Manage a team of engineering professionals: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of engineering professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
Manage departmental budgets and resources: Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and track expenses to ensure financial responsibility
Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation
Oversee complex engineering projects: Oversee the execution of complex engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge

Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment
Performs other duties within scope as assigned

Required

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Engineering Management or similar field of study
Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 additional years of Quality, Engineering, Data Analysis, or Project Management experience OR 4 additional years Quality, Engineering, Data Analysis, or Project Management experience if no post-secondary education
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Quality, Engineering, Data Analysis, or Project Management, preferably in a manufacturing or product development setting
2 years supervisory experience
This role involves frequent day trips within West Michigan, primarily to other Haworth locations, up to 50% of the time, with occasional travel outside the region as needed

Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position

Preferred

Experience in Quality Management practices and systems
Background in Manufacturing Engineering
Strong emphasis on Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies
Proven Project Management experience
CQE and/or CQM certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
Proficiency in Python for data analysis or automation
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Working knowledge of the Six Sigma/DMAIC framework
Industry experience in contract office furniture, automotive, or manufacturing sectors
