Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for electroplating, chemical etching, and custom metallization processes for multilayer products, including aluminum, gold, nickel, and copper
Design and optimize metallization processes for substrates such as ceramic, garnet, and ferrites
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design and development from a materials perspective, including failure analysis, materials qualification, and supplier assessments
Develop and implement materials and processes, process improvements, and equipment selection using statistical process control (SPC) techniques and experimental designs
Evaluate materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes, including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development
Identify and implement process and design improvements through Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), lessons learned, and defect analysis
Provide technical recommendations and mentorship to product designers, ensuring alignment with materials and process requirements

Required

Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience
5+ years of experience with chemical etching, cleaning processes, and their support of photolithography processes
5+ years of experience with electroplating processes involving gold, nickel, and copper on ceramic, garnet, and ferrite surfaces
Knowledge of chemicals and equipment used in thin film electronics manufacturing
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in process optimization and defect mitigation
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Strong communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration
Familiarity with microwave product assembly and packaging
Experience with process automation and advanced manufacturing technologies
Proficiency in using SPC techniques and experimental design methodologies to improve processes
