They are seeking a manager with distributed systems experience to lead a team in designing, delivering, and operating scalable systems while driving execution of features and projects.

Responsibilities

Build cost efficient and scalable systems from scratch
Lead a team covering at least a single service or multiple micro-services within a larger service
Be responsible for design, delivery, and operations of all components in this space
Own roadmap planning, talent review, and goal setting for your team
Build your team including recruiting, hiring, and performance management
Operate high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient
Work with services that require data to travel long distances and abide by compliance and regulations
Balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements
Motivate teams to make both process and service improvements through automation and instrumentation
Drive execution of features and projects, and own feature design

Required

Experience with distributed systems - building cost efficient and scalable systems from scratch
Led a team covering at least a single service or multiple micro-services within a larger service
Fully responsible for design, delivery, and operations of all components in this space
Expert manager with ownership of roadmap planning, talent review, and goal setting for the team
Experience in recruiting, hiring, and performance management
Operated high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient
Experience working with services that require data to travel long distances while abiding by compliance and regulations
Technical strength with a proven track record of working on highly available, scalable, and redundant services
Ability to balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements
Experience in motivating teams to make process and service improvements through automation and proper instrumentation
Understanding of operational perfection and instilling a proactive culture within the team
Ability to drive execution of features and projects, and own feature design
