Responsibilities

Perform condition assessments of existing buildings, within the field of architecture/facility design
Review and coordinate design documents with the A&E staff, consultant engineers, project owners, and construction professionals
Supervise and direct the preparation of presentation drawings as required and present them effectively to clients and the project team
Develop novel approaches and solutions to architectural problems, in coordination with the project team
Write entire project manuals with technical specifications for architectural designs
Supervise and lead design and documentation assignments, within the field of architecture/facility design, related to new construction, upgrades, maintenance, and renovation
Complete constructability and third-party peer reviews of plans and specifications
Complete construction quality assurance and quality control inspections
Manage multiple projects. Coordinate with other support team members to produce client reports in a timely manner
Ensure that quality control procedures on the project are followed
Critical thinking and the ability to work independently are imperative
Assist the design director with business development

Required

Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, or a related degree is required
Registration in the State of Georgia is required
Certification with NCARB is required
Expertise writing specifications is required
20 years experience minimum working in an architectural firm, with experience in all phases and aspects of a project (Programming, Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding/Negotiations, and Construction Administration) is required
Basic knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp are required
Motivated self-starter with a passion and drive for architecture and a strong work ethic
Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with report-writing skills, are required
Collaborative and professional attitude
Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company values, the project, and fellow employees, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
Ability to develop budgets, scopes, and deadlines, as well as upholding commitments, is required
Must be able to interact and communicate with clients and team members at all levels
Occasional travel, in and out of the state, for projects may be required
Physical ability to perform all the following functions is required: Climb ladders, walk on roofs, enter and work in confined spaces, if applicable. Work outdoors in hot or cold weather. Lift up to fifty pounds. Use necessary safety equipment
Must possess the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships
Must have a high level of analytical skills. Work requires continual attention to detail with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
