Responsibilities
General repairs, brake repair, engine repairs, heading and air condition repairs, steering and suspension repairs including 4-wheel alignments, and safety inspections and diagnostics resulting from quality opportunities
Ensure that all vehicles meet CarMax Mechanical Quality Standards
Drive vehicles to and from various locations as requested by Manager
Provide outstanding customer service at all times
Maintain, repair, and clean CarMax provided tools, equipment and spaces
Qualification
Required
Perform quality inspections, general service repairs, brake repairs, engine repairs, heating and air condition repairs, 4-wheel alignments, repairs to steering and suspension, safety inspections, and diagnostics resulting from quality opportunities
Ensure that all vehicles meet CarMax Mechanical Quality Standards
Drive vehicles to and from various locations as requested by Manager
Provide outstanding customer service at all times
Maintain, repair, and clean CarMax provided tools, equipment and spaces
Read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records
Complete all training as required by position including Kronos Training for Hourly Associates
Successfully work with and through associates of other departments within the Store
Perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced working environment
Required to have great attention to detail and have manual dexterity in both arms and hands
Speak clearly and listen effectively in dealing with customers/associates, both in person and over the phone
Lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs
Monitor shop compliance with CarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA policies
Where required by State/Local law, maintain ASE Certification in Engine Repair (A1), Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7)
Benefits
To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday.
If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.
Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
