Korn Ferry is partnering with a global energy & technology company in search of a Winder Technician for their new facility in Charlotte, NC. The role involves winding coils for large power transformers, conducting quality inspections, and maintaining technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Winding different types of coils (helical windings or disc windings for large power transformers); operating horizontal or vertical winding machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, and performing welding, soldering when vital

Performing measurements and quality inspections for windings including reviewing the tolerances in accordance with technical requirements

Supporting in developing and maintaining the documentation of technical instructions for the winding procedures

Submitting documentation and quality checks of the process done

Required

At least 4 years of Active Duty US military experience required

At least 2 years winding experience (Disc/Helical Winders) required (specifically Medium Power Transformers (50 MVA or above) or Large Power Transformers (150MVA/138KV.)

Must complete 3-6 months of international training (in either Mexico, Brazil, or Germany) to assist with start-up operations for this new facility

Relevant technical training/experience with 2+ years of experience in the winding process for transformers required (specifically Medium Power (50 MVA or above) or Large Power (150MVA/138KV.)

Ability to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test

Must be able to obtain and maintain Forklift License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights
