Responsibilities

Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including facilities managers, chief engineering managers and engineering operations technicians
Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations
Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build-outs, new colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the entire mechanical/electrical/plumbing infrastructure to facilitate the daily operation
Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon datacenters to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management
Vendor management of colocation data center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s
Oversight of a preventative maintenance system and the adherence to schedules, evaluation and performance of our infrastructure supporting the data center operations
Experience in successful insourcing and/or outsourcing specific maintenance task balancing internal skillsets with frugality
Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution
Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
5+ years operating as a manager of managers in data centers or a manufacturing facility or as a Regional Director of Facilities Maintenance/Operations
10+ years of relevant experience managing data center operations, facility engineering operations, critical environment facilities, data center build-outs and scaling, general manufacturing or similar

Preferred

Ability to operate independently as a manager of a geographically distributed Infrastructure Operations management team
Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams
Expert knowledge of data center mechanical, electrical, and controls systems or an equivalent industry with similar complexity
Demonstrated track record in delivering complex projects
Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools
Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for data centers to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management
Vendor management of colocation data center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA's
Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution
Knowledge of information technology infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, technologies and architectures, IT service delivery principles and best practices
