Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities
Manage a team of electrical engineers and designers and oversee their work on oil/gas/chemical projects
Plans organize, and direct engineering work, ensuring on-time completion, safety-in-design and quality outcomes from conception to completion
Collaborate with project management, client, other disciplines to meet project objectives
May lead one or more projects while providing guidance for other lead engineers within the program
Maintain relationship with project management and client to ensure satisfaction with the quality and progress of the project
Candidate shall have the ability to communicate effectively (written, emails, verbal) with the team and with management, and shall possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills; shall have the ability to motivate, create a positive work environment, helping the team to learn, grow and work together to achieve common goals
Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley', its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget
Initiate, manage and if required supervise electrical engineering project requirements
Perform electrical engineering services such as:
+ participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures
+ ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes
+ provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, and write purchase orders
If required, act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects
If responsible for a team:
+ outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress and
+ ensure the required services meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget
Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements
Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering
If required, assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team
Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer
Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required
Qualification
Required
A recognized and relevant BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering
Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients
Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the electrical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields
Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications
Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and electrical engineering specific software, ETAP, PSCAD, SPL
Development, design of electrical distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration, interface management
Perform/review power systems studies and protective device settings
Extensive technical and practical experience in electrical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent
8 plus years' experience in oil and gas industry
Oil and gas experience
Experience in software such as MS Office Suite and electrical engineering specific software, ETAP, PSCAD, SPL
Development, design of electrical distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration
Professional Engineer (P. E or P. Eng) status US/Canada
