ELECTRONICS MECHANIC WORK LEADER
TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY is part of the Department of the Navy, and they are seeking an Electronics Mechanic Work Leader to oversee the Antenna Repair Shop Division. Responsibilities
You will pass on instructions received from the supervisor to other shop workers
You will assign immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the shop
You will answer worker questions on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives such as automated work requests
You will report to the supervisor on status and progress of work and causes of work delays
You will ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed; for example, verify that the limits of safe machine operation are not exceeded, all tools are used properly, and worksite stowage and cleanliness is maintained
You will research plans, drawings, sketches, technical manuals, factory specifications, job order specifications, TRIREFFAC-KB directives, and other publications to ensure equipment meets specifications
You will utilize knowledge of electronic and electrical theory as applied to assigned equipment to conduct tests and analyze equipment performance to isolate malfunctions or verify conformance to specifications
You will perform routine maintenance specified by the equipment manufacturer, TRIREFFAC-KB maintenance requirement procedures, or shipboard maintenance requirement cards
You will inspect equipment for proper operation and alignment aboard submarines
You will perform post-repair checks on instruments and equipment to ensure operational accuracy of systems
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
This is a Mission Essential position
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport
You will be required to perform occasional sea duty
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job
Ability to lead or supervise
Apply technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot, test, repair, overhaul, rebuild, install, modify, align, and calibrate electronic systems
Demonstrate proper work methods to junior employees while maintaining optimal work levels
Receive instructions from the shop supervisor and effectively communicate the instructions to junior employees
Repair, troubleshoot, and test: hydraulics, communication masts, and antenna systems
Use and apply electronic principles, circuit theory, and electronic theory in a workshop setting
