INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER / NAVAL ARCHITECT

Responsibilities
You will create, explore, evaluate, design and share solutions and the validity of their predicted performance to resolve problems, conditions, and issues
You will apply a range and depth of knowledge acquired specifically through an intensive learning regimen of the phenomena, theories, and concepts of a scientific body of engineering knowledge
You will understand theories, concepts, principles and their relationships underlying the practices of professional engineering to improve the efficiency and quality of work performed
You will identify, analyze, advise, consult and report on scientific, theoretical, and factual data, conditions, and problems
You will assess, resolve and predict the relationships and interactions of data and findings under varying conditions
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
Your resume must demonstrate that you have successfully completed the basic education requirement
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with professional engineering experience understanding, demonstrating and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with professional engineering experience understanding, demonstrating and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects; carrying out, interpreting, and explaining basic computations and calculations; and reading, understanding, manipulating, analyzing, interpreting, and conveying findings
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with professional engineering experience researching, interpreting, and carrying out engineering assignments; and providing technical input on the planning, design, construction, testing, or maintenance of projects
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with professional engineering experience researching, interpreting, and carrying out engineering assignments; providing technical input on the planning, design, construction, testing, or maintenance of projects; and collecting and analyzing engineering data to solve problems, develop reports, and provide recommendations
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
