Responsibilities
Participate in pre-season staff orientation/training program
Help teach swimming lessons to participants
Use accepted methods and safety measures in teaching
Attend weekly staff meetings
Enforce all facility rules in a prompt, polite and consistent manner
Ensure swim lessons are a fun and safe learning experience for all participants
Instill discipline and respect from the beginning
Keep all lifesaving equipment and first aid supplies in readiness
Maintain the cleanliness of the facilities, including walkways, showers, restrooms and parking lot
Follow all department policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Must be 15 years of age or older by May 31st
Red Cross Lifeguard certification & First Aid & CPR & Water Park certification is required
Ability to communicate, be courteous and cooperate with other staff members
Preferred
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred, but not mandatory
