Intern - Business Associate Team

The University of Massachusetts President's Office in Westborough, MA, offers a 20-hour-a-week internship for students enrolled at the five UMass campuses. The selected intern will work directly with the Business Associates Team within Administration & Finance, gaining valuable knowledge and skills in procurement, accounts payable, and general administration & finance processes.

Responsibilities

Support routing cases received by Administration & Finance through calls, case management, chatbot, or email
Support resolution/troubleshooting of various administration and finance-related processes, including but not limited to HR, procurement, accounts payable, sourcing, contracts, supplier management, training, procurement & travel card processing, travel & expense, and general needs of UMass Administration & Finance customers and stakeholders
Understand and implement case/request escalation methodology as needed
Ability to leverage information from Salesforce case management, BuyWays (procurement technology), PeopleSoft, and Concur to help resolve customer needs
Attend mandatory and required training
Support A&F-related projects and perform activities as directed by the department head and mentor

Required

Current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study within Marketing, Economics, Accounting, and General Business courses
GPA 3.0 or higher
Creative, eager to learn, motivated, and willing to take initiative on assigned projects/tasks
Reliable and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and possess good follow-up skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when interacting with staff
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Preferred

Ability to multitask across multiple systems
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
