Responsibilities
Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms
Scheduling and confirming appointments
Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients
Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments
Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions
Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control)
Managing medical records, documentation, reports and correspondence
Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste), cleaning and sanitizing common areas and exam rooms between visits, maintaining and adhering to infection control standards set in place by all regulatory agencies, and ensuring personal workspaces and the facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside
Qualification
Required
Experience as a Veterinary Client Service Representative/Receptionist
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Empathy and responsiveness to clients
Ability to advocate for patients
Ability to work cohesively with a team
Customer service skills including greeting visitors and answering telephones
Ability to schedule and confirm appointments
Experience in placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients
Ability to present and explain fees and process payments
Knowledge of products and services related to animal husbandry and non-medical pet care
Experience managing medical records, documentation, reports, and correspondence
Ability to maintain hospital cleanliness and adhere to infection control standards
Availability to work one weekend day a week
Flexibility to work staggered shifts between 6:30am and 7:00pm
