Design Release Engineer - Valvetrain & Timing Drive
Stellantis is seeking a Valvetrain & Timing Drive Design Release Engineer responsible for engineering activities related to the development of Valvetrain and Timing Drive components for gasoline engines. The role includes design, development, testing, and collaboration with various teams to solve problems and improve products.

Responsibilities
Participates as a team member on various engineering projects. Must be a team player able to manage multiple priorities while considering the inputs from a variety of stakeholders
Resolves technical issues based on engineering analysis of camshafts, camshaft phasers, rocker arms, valves, valve seat & valve guide inserts, valve springs, timing chains, timing guides, and tensioners
Plan and coordinate test execution (through utilization of engineering tools such as DFMEA’s and DVP&R) and monitor progress and results
Analyzes test and measurement data creating summaries with data-based conclusions and makes recommendations to the team
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with design and manufacturing of powertrain components
Understanding of valvetrain/timing drive components and related manufacturing processes, i.e. steel stamping, machining, grinding, heat treatment...etc
Understanding of product development documentation such as, DFMEA and DVP&R
Understanding of Mechanics of Materials, Engine cam timing, CAE Analysis, and GD&T
Experience in selecting materials and manufacturing methods for mechanical components
Ability to author system/component level requirements
Strong interpersonal communication, team/leadership skills/experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong project management skills/experience
Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems
Preferred
Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
Valvetrain or timing drive exp
Working experience in creation and execution of validation plans
Critical character traits to ensure success: Action Oriented, Dealing with Ambiguity, Customer Focus, Problem Solving
Working experience with 3D cad programs, preferably Siemens NX
