Documentation Specialist

Responsibilities

Review and verify customer and engineering documentation for completeness and accuracy
Create and maintain Job Books using established templates and standard work practices
Validate and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and alignment
Process documentation updates for NPI projects in a timely and controlled manner
Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other teams to clarify documentation requirements
Organize and maintain NPI documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Support documentation-related tasks as assigned by management
Create and maintain assembly Job Books, including updates from red-line changes
Manage documentation updates through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Maintain documentation libraries and ensure version control and document control standards are followed
Create and distribute documentation packets to support production activities
Monitor documentation accuracy throughout the product lifecycle and escalate issues as needed
Develop and update work instructions, test procedures, and part records
Enter and maintain BOM and part data within the ERP system
Support ISO and Quality documentation initiatives as required
Organize electronic files, master registers, and controlled documents
Meet documentation milestones and support project timelines
Participate in continuous improvement, Lean activities, and problem-solving efforts
Maintain regular on-site presence to support production and cross-functional teams

Required

1–3 years of experience supporting manufacturing documentation, technical documentation, or production environments
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, CAD files, and component specifications
Working knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs), part specifications, and ECO processes
Ability to create and maintain assembly documentation, work instructions, and test procedures
Proficiency with MS Office; ability to learn Factory Logix, Checkpoint, and Circuit CAM systems
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and document control
Ability to follow standardized documentation processes and meet timelines
Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and escalate appropriately
Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages
Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams

Preferred

Associate degree in electronics, mechanics, documentation, or a related technical field preferred
Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and ISO documentation standards preferred; training may be provided
