Sr Cybersecurity Engineering Manager

The Cybersecurity Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the development and governance of cybersecurity programs for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System sites globally, ensuring compliance with international standards and fostering partnerships to uphold cybersecurity and risk management standards.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve cybersecurity policies, procedures, and systems for global BESS operations
Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals while driving a proactive security culture and awareness across the organization
Oversee incident response, vulnerability management, and threat intelligence activities for all BESS environments
Ensure compliance with relevant global cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g. IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIST, NIS2, NERC CIP) and manage relationships with regulators, auditors, and certification bodies
Lead cybersecurity risk assessments, audits, and gap analyses for BESS sites to identify and mitigate security weaknesses
Develop and manage cybersecurity strategies for OT environments, including network segmentation, access control, secure communications, and GRC principles
Oversee the implementation of cybersecurity controls for embedded systems, cloud platforms, and industrial networks, collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and Corporate IT Cybersecurity
Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory changes, adapting cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps as needed
Complete other duties and projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity management, preferably in energy, utilities, or industrial control systems
Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NERC CIP, SOCI, GDPR)
An educational background in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Proven track record in global compliance and regulatory environments
Familiarity with OT/ICS security, network architecture, and cloud security
Experience with incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management
Strong understanding of risk management and business continuity planning
Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex, multi-national projects
Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team
Willingness to travel internationally as required to meet with clients and governing bodies (up to 25% or as needed)
