Responsibilities

Support the development and integration of the Harvester gasoline engine underpinning the Scout Traveler SUV and Terra pickup
Lead the overall hardware DVP for the engine and engine hardware, including prototype through production sample planning for each development phase
Develop and execute test plans together with internal group partners, suppliers, and vehicle testing team to demonstrate that vehicle performance targets can be met
Ensure that required development tools and equipment are available on-time to support internal testing
Author test procedures and publish as Scout engineering standard
Development of Scout powertrain requirements derived from vehicle-level specifications, followed by formal documentation of these requirements within the Scout systems

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Demonstrated expertise in powertrain fundamentals, with hands-on experience in engine dynamometer development, validation, and calibration testing—including test specifications and setups
4+ years of experience as a development and/or validation engineer supporting engine projects from initial development through to production
Experienced in using industry-standard vehicle and dynamometer data acquisition and analysis tools such as INCA and Vector, along with hands-on expertise in engine instrumentation—including strain gauges and thermocouples—for both vehicle and test cell applications
Demonstrated ability to influence technical peers without direct authority
Strong interpersonal skills including accountability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, succinct communication and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment
Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc

Preferred

Direct experience with internal combustion engine range extender applications
