Senior Business Development Manager – BESS Solutions for Data Centers

Jereh North American Group is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions tailored to the data center market. The role focuses on generating new opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and leading technical sales engagements from prospecting to contract execution.

Responsibilities

Develop and grow business opportunities for BESS within hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and edge data center segments
Build, strengthen, and manage customer relationships at multiple levels within targeted accounts
Conduct proactive outreach, including cold calling, to expand market visibility and initiate new customer engagements
Manage the full sales cycle: qualification, scoping, proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and closure
Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and operations teams to create customer-tailored BESS and hybrid power solutions
Capture customer insights and communicate market needs to guide product positioning and future development
Maintain accurate pipelines, opportunity tracking, and follow-up on all proposals and customer inquiries
Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments impacting BESS adoption in the data center sector
Represent Gen-Systems at conferences, trade shows, and industry events to support networking and opportunity generation

Required

10–15 years of business development or technical sales experience in energy, power systems, or mission-critical infrastructure
Minimum 5 years of direct experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Demonstrated success managing complex technical sales processes and closing high-value opportunities
Strong understanding of energy systems, including battery storage, microgrids, gas turbines, and backup power
Experience supporting product or market development for emerging technology solutions
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities
Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and travel regularly
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Buyers of data centers or oil & gas companies: 5 years
Applied DLE/SCR tech in emissions controls: 5 years
RFQ or RFP experience for engineered systems: 5 years
Mobile turbine or modular hybrid power deployments: 5 years
Ability to Commute: Houston, TX 77049
Willingness to travel: 50%

Preferred

Existing network within data center operators, EPCs, integrators, or mission-critical infrastructure developers
Experience selling into large-scale data center environments
Familiarity with modular or hybrid power architectures
Sold into Alaska, LATAM, or utility market: 1 year
More than 20 megawatts Power Generation sales: 5 years
