Sabre Systems, LLC is seeking a Metrology Calibration Electronics Technician to support the Navy Calibration Laboratory at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The role involves ensuring the accuracy of military equipment and measurement systems through inspection, testing, and calibration, while adhering to strict procedures in the Navy’s METCAL program.

Responsibilities

Perform calibrations, tests, and maintenance of precise measuring instruments and electrical/electronic test equipment to ensure accuracy and traceability

Inspect manufactured parts and samples using specialized tools to ensure they conform to specifications and blueprints

Perform routine preventative maintenance on instruments

Identify and resolve issues with calibration equipment to minimize downtime

Preparing and operation test equipment and following established processes and procedures

Make necessary repairs to measurement devices and order replacement parts when needed

Analyze measurement data and maintain accurate records of all results and calibrations. Recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level. Prepares test reports

Support quality control by verify compliance with Navy’s METCAL standards

Applying methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducting tests or experiments; developing/implementing redesigns as necessary; and recording and evaluating data and reports findings

Required

A Technical or Scientific AS or AA degree is required. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of recent and relevant experience

At least six (6) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description

Four (4) years of experience in installation of hardware and/or equipment

One (1) year of experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings

Experience may be concurrent

This role is 100% On-Site at the Navy Calibration Laboratory, NAS Patuxent River, MD

Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred

Former Navy and USMC Electronic Technician (ET) - E-4 and above experience preferred

Familiar with the Navy's METCAL program preferred

Familiar with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) preferred
