Responsibilities
Bridge Design, contract plans preparation and specifications requiring quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets and schedules
Developing and analyzing design options
Maintaining organized design calculation and project data
Performing load ratings analysis
Calculation of quantities and development of cost estimates
Office support for construction support services
Work with contractor or other consultants to develop demolition and erection plans, temporary sheeting, cofferdam designs, and temporary supports
Review shop drawing submittals
Address questions from contractors during the construction phases of structures
Act as task manager and/or Engineer of Record
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil or Structural Engineering; Masters Preferred
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the analysis and design of concrete and structural steel bridges and related simple and complex structures
PA PE required
Must possess strong leadership and communications skills
Well versed in PennDOT design policies, standards and specifications
Candidate should be well versed in the use of the AASHTO LRFD and LFD Bridge Design Specifications
Position requires knowledge in the use of Microstation and/or AutoCAD
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word programs for business applications
Preferred
Knowledge of AREMA preferred but not required
Open Bridge experience preferred but not required
Experience in writing/development of project proposals and letters of interest preferred but not required
