Apex Order Pickup Solutions is looking for a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead and manage the company’s core financial functions. This role involves overseeing financial strategy, inventory accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, while supporting operational scalability and compliance.

Responsibilities
Partner with the CFO to implement robust, scalable accounting processes aligned with company growth objectives and GAAP compliance
Oversee monthly close, internal controls, financial statement accuracy, and audit preparation
Leverage Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI to enhance automation, reporting, and analytics across all functional areas
Lead all inventory accounting activities including valuation, cost tracking, reconciliation, and shrinkage control
Partner with warehouse and operations leadership to align inventory strategy with supply chain performance
Establish and maintain cycle counts, audit readiness, and inventory policy documentation
Manage billing, collections, credit analysis, and cash application to reduce DSO and improve cash forecasting
Collaborate cross-functionally to structure customer financing opportunities, including credit terms and documentation workflows
Monitor AR performance using dashboards and reporting tools
Oversee vendor invoice processing, approvals, payment scheduling, and vendor management
Optimize AP operations through automation, controls, and alignment with cash flow targets
Ensure tax compliance, 1099 reporting, and proper expense classification
Administer corporate insurance policies including general liability, workers' compensation, and business property coverage
Manage policy renewals, claims, and broker communications to ensure adequate and cost-effective coverage
Establish internal protocols for risk assessment and incident reporting
Lead a team of four professionals across AR, AP, inventory, and insurance
Establish performance expectations, provide coaching and mentorship, and support professional development
Promote a culture of accountability, process improvement, and cross-departmental collaboration
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of relevant accounting and financial operations experience, including prior leadership responsibility
Demonstrated success in building or optimizing accounting processes in growth-stage or operationally complex companies
Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or similar and strong Excel/Power BI skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to distill financial data for non-financial stakeholders
Ability to work in a hybrid environment and travel occasionally as needed
Preferred
CPA or CMA preferred
MBA preferred
Experience with customer credit programs, leasing structures, or internal financing strategies is highly desirable
