Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor, Mechanical Engineering (Non-Tenure Track Position)

Penn State University is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track Teaching Faculty appointment in Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, advising students, and participating in program activities, while fostering a quality educational environment.

Responsibilities

Teach a variety of undergraduate courses in support of the Mechanical Engineering program
Advise and mentor undergraduate students
Participate in all aspects of the program’s activities, including service to the program, division, university, community, and profession
Work collaboratively with faculty dedicated to ensuring the highest quality education for Altoona students
Encourage individual growth, cultural awareness, ethical decision-making, and civic responsibility

Required

Candidates must have a graduate degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field by the time of the appointment
Candidates should have excellent communication skills
Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, curricular development, and assessment

Preferred

Candidates with prior teaching and/or relevant industrial experience are preferred
