Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas
Execute repairs and maintenance related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems as directed
Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from guests and staff
Conduct preventive maintenance on guest room equipment and systems as scheduled and directed by the Director or Assistant Director of Engineering
Identify and report any major maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to the leadership team
Utilize maintenance tracking systems (e.g., HotSos) to document work performed and report issues
Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including OSHA standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures, particularly those related to engineering and maintenance
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively
Handle guest requests and inquiries promptly and courteously
Handle chemicals and cleaning agents according to safety guidelines when applicable to maintenance tasks
Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for meetings and social gatherings as needed
Professionally interact with guests when performing maintenance repairs or system troubleshooting in occupied rooms
Communicate effectively with guests regarding the status of repairs and expected completion times
Ensure guest satisfaction by minimizing disruption and leaving guest rooms in excellent condition after completing work
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment
Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
Ability to troubleshoot common maintenance issues
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
Ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as collaboratively within a team
Strong organizational skills
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Basic communication skills to interact with guests and team members
Ability to stand, walk, pull, push, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment
Ability to work flexible hours, including overnights, weekends and holidays, as needed
Preferred
HVAC License
Local Fire Safety Director (LFSD) certificate
