Lead Server Admin
Niterra North America, Inc. is a global leader in spark plug and oxygen sensor technology and quality. The Lead Server Admin will coordinate key process improvements, ensure server availability and security, and manage server infrastructure to meet business demands.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the Physical and Virtual server and storage environment
Ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to meet business demands
Establish and implement procedures to ensure server security
Conduct research on server hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts
Document servers and the applications that reside on them, site and network diagrams
Serve as cornerstone for escalating server issues; provide timely response to customer escalations
Application deployment and support
Scripting knowledge for automation of tasks
Perform file system configuration and management; define and perform server backups and recovery procedures
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
Documentation of application installs and knowledge relay to support staff
Plan and implement server patches and upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches
Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports
Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure
Define and implement strategies for integrating disparate operating environments
Recommend and execute modifications to server environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
Develop and maintain training materials and server documentation
Enter all changes in IT change management Database
Adhere to all company policies and procedures which include IATF, ISO, TISAX, ISMS, and Safety related policies
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Degree in the field of computer science or management information systems or a related discipline and 1 year working experience or 5 plus years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience and knowledge configuring and deploying anti-virus
Experience and knowledge with Backup Software
Knowledge of: MS Operating systems 2008 and greater, VMware, Storage management, Virtual Azure/AWS Google, Google Cloud platform, Hypervisor experience
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology
Experience with server performance tuning, patching and monitoring tools
Experience with TCP/IP network protocols, and operating system configuration
Ability to conduct research into server issues and products as required
Preferred
Certifications in MS Servers 2012 or greater, Azure AD or Azure Cloud services given preference
