Responsibilities

Programs and operates bridge style CMM equipment and use hand-held and mechanical inspection tools to inspect product against written specifications and procedures
Conducts mechanical and visual inspections and evaluate materials as received at Incoming Inspection
Analyzes the measurements obtained through inspections performed and then provide disposition as appropriate. Notifies the appropriate personnel when product is found to be nonconforming. Documents non-conforming material and attach material quality status labeling. Stores and handles product and labeling in a controlled and secure manner
Confirms completeness and validity of supplier inspection documentation
Provides and coordinates calibration of tooling & equipment
Establishes schedule of priorities for conducting inspections and execute assigned activities in accordance with production schedules. Works in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and without direct supervision. Works outside of routine scheduled hours may be required. 2nd shift work may be required for extended periods based on customer demand
Interacts with various Quality, Production and Engineering team members, and communicate directly with suppliers and customers to ensure product quality
Analyzes, collects and publishes performance data and reports, write technical reports, and develop and maintain accurate quality records
Develops, implements, and maintains Quality procedures, standards, and controls. Support Quality through the conduct of nonconformance investigations and assist with corrective and preventive actions
Performs other tasks as deemed necessary, and those related to assuring that product meets established standards for quality. Completes Special projects as assigned
Operates Forklift and Utilize lifting equipment such as cranes, and high lifts
Ensures tooling being used is calibrated
Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
Assists in Supplier Development activities
Interfaces with ERP software daily
Follows safety rules and report problems to management
Occasional travel for the purposes of supplier inspection, training, quality improvement, personal development, and technical support may be required

Required

High School diploma or GED required
2 years minimum operating CMM equipment
Knowledge of CMM software usage
Proficiency inspecting components against manual drawings or 3D data files
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major, and minor characteristics
Demonstrated ability using handheld measurement devices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Preferred

Engineering degree preferred
Programming experience preferred
Lean and/or Six Sigma experience a plus
Previous experience in an ISO 9001 quality system
ASQ Certified Quality Technician or Inspector desired
CMM software usage and programming with CAD experience a plus
ERP software knowledge, Epicor ERP a plus
