Responsibilities

Perform the necessary diagnostic testing of the eye while having a basic understanding and knowledge of these tests such as OCT macula, OCT optic nerves, Lenstar, ORB scan, Optos Fundus photos, EPIC (OPD and glare), IMMERSION and HVF, any other related tests as needed
Assist with answering calls and emails: Triage, RX Refills, questions regarding patient chart/plan, etc.)
Become familiar with basic conditions and diseases of the eye
Maintains and sterilizes room and equipment, properly turning on and off all equipment
Assists Technicians and Scribes as needed
Administers topical ophthalmic medication and understanding basic ocular pharmacology; names of meds and their uses

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Strong communication and interpersonal skill
Able to think quickly and be attentive
Be able to work in a fast paced, team environment
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff members
Must demonstrate commitment to ongoing educations and uphold to the highest ethical principles of maintaining confidentiality
Proficient in EMR and computer literacy
Well organized and attentive to detail
HIPAA knowledge and compliance

Preferred

Minimum 1 Year experience in Ophthalmic field
Some college coursework or Associates degree
JCAHPO certification
CPR
Proficiency in a second language highly desirable
