Responsibilities
Lead and support engineering projects across WAN, LAN, and data center environments
Participate in a rotational on-call schedule for high-priority operational issues
Develop and maintain engineering work orders (EWOs) and configuration templates
Create bills of materials (BOMs) and coordinate hardware procurement with suppliers
Perform advanced (Level 4) troubleshooting for routing, hardware, circuit, bug, and performance issues
Deliver technical presentations on emerging technologies and provide status updates to leadership and stakeholders
Escalate and communicate effectively with leadership during critical incidents
Ensure compliance with GM’s engineering standards and change management protocols
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent certifications
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data networking and unified communications
Proven expertise in enterprise-scale network infrastructure design and implementation
Strong analytical skills and ability to lead during outage and conflict resolution scenarios
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
WAN Technologies: Internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, IPSEC, DMVPN
Routing Protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IGRP, IS-IS
Data Center LAN: Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus platforms. AI/ML
Structured Cabling: Fiber, copper, AOC, power distribution, patch panels
Automation: Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Python and related tools
Network Appliances: Firewalls, load balancers, packet sniffers
Infrastructure Services: DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP, Authentication, Active Directory, LDAP
