Civil Engineer - Hydrology/Hydraulics

Trilon Group is a leading design and construction management firm specializing in various engineering disciplines for water and wastewater infrastructure. They are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer - Hydrology/Hydraulics to prepare hydrologic models and studies, oversee drainage design, and mentor junior staff in their Las Vegas office.

Responsibilities

Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, & Flo-2D
Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting; prior floodplain modeling work experience in Douglas County is a preferable
Researches jurisdictional drainage requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings
Oversees production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD & MicroStation
Performs data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS desirable
Works as a member of a multi-discipline team
Mentors EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice
Conducts site visits and document findings
Writes and coordinates preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents

Required

Bachelors degree in Engineering
Minimum 5 years of drainage experience
Proficient with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, & Flo-2D
Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational and Communication Skills
Works well in a Team Environment
Strong attention to detail
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques
Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Prior floodplain modeling work experience in Douglas County is a preferable
GISP certification desirable
Proficiency with ArcGIS and QGIS; GISP certification desirable
