Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a proficient level of expertise in the detail design practices of SEL protection and automation systems
Design and configure automation systems, including automation controllers, communication networks, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and security gateways
Conduct thorough testing and validation of automation solutions to ensure proper functionality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze power system requirements and develop automation solutions that align with customer needs
Provide training and assistance to customers in the installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems, both on-site and remotely

Required

A minimum of an associate degree in electrical engineering technology or an equivalent certification/training is recommended
1+ years of experience in electrical power system or industrial automation systems
Willingness to travel 20-50%
Proficiency in Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
Working knowledge of electric power systems, protection, relaying applications, integration, and automation applications
Motivation to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities

Preferred

Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and/or generation systems
Understanding of substation equipment and electrical switchgear
Familiarity with SEL products and technologies, such as RTACs, SEL relays, etc
Experience in designing cabinets, racks, or panels for equipment integration using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Bluebeam
Understanding and deployment of industry-standard protocols, such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850 GOOSE, MMS
Experience in industrial and/or power system integration, automation, industrial controls, and/or PLCs
