Master Mechanic

The Master Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining shuttle and yard vehicles, ensuring their safety and mechanical soundness, while also managing tools and parts inventory.

Responsibilities

Performing and documenting routine maintenance and minor repairs on shuttle and yard vehicles
Managing the procurement, storage, and inventory of necessary tools, parts, and supplies required for maintenance and repairs
Implementing and overseeing LOTO procedures for inoperable or unsafe vehicles until repairs or corrective actions are completed
Replacing and repairing normal wear and tear on vehicle parts, including brakes, rotors, and minor engine components
Conducting oil changes, tire changes, tune-ups, filter replacements, and regular lubrication services based on mileage/operating hours
Maintaining and repairing all rail loading ramps with the same attention as shuttle and yard vehicles
Performing minor maintenance and repairs on grounds and facilities as appropriate and within qualifications
Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors to support operational needs

Required

State or ASE Master Certification
Strong work ethic
Respect for people and company policies and values
Strong driving skills with an exemplary level of safety awareness, quality, and compliance
Proficiency in operating handheld scanners and other equipment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Current, valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check
Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments
Comfortably wear personal protective equipment
Frequently navigate a busy environment
Frequently carry, lift, move, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
Perform various manual tasks such as ascending/descending ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, twisting, crouching, and reaching, all of which may be repetitive
Maintain stationary positions for extended durations as needed
Operate vehicles or mobile equipment as required
Grip and pinch with both hands and use various hand tools
Work in proximity to hazardous materials, loud noise, and/or extreme temperatures
Demonstrate visual acuity and physical dexterity essential for performing the duties associated with the role
Availability to work up to 40 hours per week as required
Responsibility for retaining a valid driver's license, free from any drug or alcohol-related driving convictions or reckless driving, and always remain 'insurable' while operating company owned or controlled vehicles
