Outside Sales Specialist

United Flow Technologies (UFT) is a representative and stocking distributor of flow control equipment, process equipment, and process instrumentation. The Outside Sales Specialist will establish and maintain relationships with municipalities and contractors in the municipal market, utilizing resources to develop marketing strategies and promote sales within the metropolitan NYC market.

Information Services

Responsibilities

Expand existing relationships with end users, contractors, and engineers while building lasting relationships with new accounts
Provide engineers and end users a professional level of product promotion/selection, support and follow up to ensure projects are successful and to maximize sales revenue
Travel within assigned sales territory; Metro NYC
Be self-motivated to set up meetings, product promotion events, and relationship building activities to maintain frequent contact with your customer base
Attend product training seminars and participate in local industry associations and trade shows
Travel to represented (manufacturer) companies for training on an as-needed basis
Work with end-users with a hands-on approach. This may entail assisting with commissioning new equipment
Work with the inside sales staff to provide a managerial role for projects and the management thereof
Provide monthly sales reporting including forecasting and insights to current bid activity

Required

3+ years of outside sales experience
Exceptional communication skills; both verbal and written
Valid US Driver License
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or military experience with 4 years professional experience
The ability to travel overnight up to 20%
Great organizational and relationship skills
Proficient with Microsoft 365 and familiar with CRM systems

Preferred

Experience selling mechanical equipment like valves, actuators, and pumps desired
Water/ wastewater experience desired
