Intern - Park Management (Summer)
The State of South Dakota is offering a summer internship in Park Management, providing essential job experience in the management and maintenance of a state park. The intern will engage in various activities including customer service, environmental education, and park maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
The intern will be involved in daily management of Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve and other parks in District 8
Intern duties may include maintenance of natural resources, trails and buildings, as well as provide customer service to visitors and work with staff to development projects for the park
Intern will also help to coordinate, create, and present environmental education programs for school groups, special groups and the general public
Be involved with the development of press releases, posters, Facebook page, and public service announcements
Help with visitor center needs such as cleaning, taking care of interpretive animals and staffing of the visitor center during the week and weekends
Assist in coordination of special events
Qualification
Required
APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
Experience in customer service, working with children and adults, and love for the outdoors is highly recommended
