Product Line Director Engineer – Mobile Gas Turbines

Responsibilities

Own the technical and commercial roadmap for the mobile gas turbine rental product line, including performance, reliability, cost, and feature enhancements across the fleet
Define and manage product requirements for new units, upgrades, and digital capabilities in collaboration with design engineering, OEMs, and key vendors
Lead lifecycle management, including configuration control, obsolescence plans, and retrofit strategies to extend fleet life and improve return on capital deployed
Partner with sales and business development to position solutions for e-frac, remote off-grid sites, peak-demand support, and planned outage power, providing technical leadership in customer meetings and proposals
Develop pricing and margin strategies for rentals, long-term agreements, and engineered solutions in alignment with company financial targets
Use fleet performance data, KPIs, and reliability analytics to prioritize engineering actions that improve availability, heat rate, emissions performance, and maintainability
Co-lead cross-functional product teams with operations and service leaders to address recurring issues, corrective actions, and design improvements
Oversee technical standards for project execution, including Balance of Plant integration, controls philosophies, interconnection requirements, and site layout guidelines for rapid deployment
Provide governance and approval of major technical decisions, including equipment selection, engine swaps, upgrades, and critical repair strategies
Support key customer events such as commissioning, performance tests, major outages, and root-cause investigations to ensure contractual and performance commitments are met
Work with supply chain to qualify strategic suppliers, optimize spare parts strategies, and ensure technical compliance of procured components
Drive adherence to HSE standards and industry codes for mobile power generation, ensuring product designs and deployment practices minimize safety and environmental risk
Provide technical training and guidance to internal teams (sales, project managers, field service) on product capabilities, limitations, and best-practice deployment
Monitor competitor offerings and market trends in mobile gas turbine and large-scale rental power to benchmark performance, features, and commercial models
Prepare and present product line performance reviews, business cases, and capital investment proposals to senior leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering, or closely related discipline
8+ years of experience in gas turbine or power generation engineering, with at least 3–5 years in product management, product line leadership, or equivalent technical-commercial role
Demonstrated experience with gas turbine performance, controls, and balance-of-plant systems for power generation applications
Proven track record working with rental, temporary power, or project-based power solutions for industrial, oil & gas, or utility customers
Strong business acumen with experience evaluating investments, pricing strategies, and product P&L impact
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear value propositions for customers and internal stakeholders
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites, vendors, and company locations as needed

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering or MBA with a focus on energy, operations, or technology management
Experience with mobile gas turbine packages specifically used in e-frac, midstream, or remote industrial applications
Background in rental power, temporary power projects, or independent power producer environments with multi-MW solutions
Familiarity with digital monitoring, remote diagnostics, and analytics for rotating equipment fleets
Knowledge of emissions regulations, interconnection standards, and grid support requirements for distributed generation
Experience managing OEM relationships and negotiating technical and commercial terms for major equipment and LTSA-style agreements
Certification or formal training in project management, reliability engineering, or product management frameworks
